Every aquarist wants their sand bed turned over, and sandsifting stars are often a great option. Florida Sandsifting Starfish are the cousins of the typically available Asian sandsifting stars in the hobby. While they are a bit more expensive than the others, the stars from right here in the US are much hardier and less likely to melt once established in an aquarium. Many times hobbyists worry about them running out of food in the sandbed. These starfish will detect food being dropped and pop out of the sand to gobble up leftovers. They are reef safe, and as an added bonus come in a greenish (almost teal!) color.
